Pros: At first you will hate this class, and Dr. Sarkar, but then you will actually grow fond of it (well at least I did).
Cons: You can't miss this class at all. Dr. Sarkar doesn't post slides online and when he lectures he clicks through them very fast. Be prepared to take notes, a lot, a lot of notes. And every now and then there will be an in class activity. Oh. and there is a lab for this class which is included in the grade.

Pros: 40 points extra credit in the very beginning
Easy dye labs
Cons: So much information!!!
Everything in the class is basically powerpoint - we write a lot. If you have a computer, I suggest bringing it because he goes very fast...Funniest teacher! He's awesome, show up and you'll get a good grade. Test's are a little hard, but if you study, they shouldn't be too bad!

Make sure you go to class and take really good notes and know everything from your notes for the tests. It seemed like he tested over small details more than major concepts. Definitely don't buy the book, I only used it a few times. The only thing you'll need to buy is the swatch kit and lab booklet. Although this class was really boring and seemed pointless it got a lot better toward the end of the semester; the professor is pretty nice and gives a lot of extra credit. The tests are pretty difficult but if you go to class and to all of the labs and do most of the extra credit you should be able to get an A or at least a B.

Make sure you go to class, or those tests will kick your butt. He's a funny guy and makes you laugh once in awhile. Sometimes he's a little boring but he KNOWS what he's talking about. Just keep up with him, do your work, take notes and study for the tests and you'll do fine!

This class is very challenging. His tests are very detailed but the class is interesting and the lab helps alot with understanding the material. He is very good about working with students so they can do well in the class. He'll help you but you have to work for a good grade. There are also opportunities for extra credit which is also helpful

Dr. Sarkar is amazing. When I took DM 120 it was fun, exciting and I enjoyed it. Anyone who hates details will think this class is hard. Its really not a hard class. His other classes are fun and he tells jokes. He is really fired up about the subject and one of the smartest teachers I've had here. Go to him for help with anything...He's a great prof and offers a great learning experience.

AM 321. Sarkar is an awesome professor. Although note taking is a long and tedious process, he makes the class entertaining and interesting by incorporating group activities and cracking a few jokes every once in a while. His lower level classes may seem challenging, but they only get better the further you get into the major.

this is a technical class. expect it to be like a first year foreign language class. lots of terms to learn. very difficult. expect to work your butt off for a decent grade.

Don't expect this teacher to give you an easy time. You will have to work hard or you won't get a good grade. His assignments are relatively easy, but watch out for those tests! Study everything- even what is not on the study guide!
